EDGE AI / LOCAL COMPUTE

Edge AI hardware & local AI reference
Start with the machine, the model and the evidence. This first set is a curated orientation—not a live market feed or a claim of “best.”
HOW TO READ THIS PAGE
Evidence before rankings.
Specifications below are manufacturer claims linked to primary sources. Our ordering is an editorial shortlist for different kinds of local AI exploration, not a performance league table. Vendor TOPS figures can use different precisions and workloads; they are not directly comparable.
A CURATED FIRST SET
Choose the shape
of the problem.
Edge hardware spans tiny accelerators, compact systems and everyday computers. Fit depends on your model, memory, software and power envelope.

EDITORIAL ORDER / BY USE-CASE FIT
Ranked hardware
Order prioritizes purpose-built edge deployment, general local experimentation, then constrained embedded builds. No aggregate score; choose by workload.

FEATURED LOCAL AI MODELS
A model is more
than its size.
There is no model leaderboard here. Hardware fit depends on weights, quantization, context length, runtime and workload.

Comparisons will need a defined task, runtime, quantization and measurement method before any scores appear.
FUTURE BENCHMARKS / METHODOLOGY FIRST
“TOPS” does not
mean tokens per second.
TOPS is a peak operations figure under specified precision and conditions. It does not tell you how fast a model generates text. Any future benchmark needs to name the hardware, model and version, quantization, runtime, task, power mode, test date and provenance.
Why deployment location matters ↗SOURCE POLICY
Trace every
number.
Records identify whether a value is a manufacturer specification, supported runtime statement, third-party test or our own measurement. This launch reference contains manufacturer-sourced specs only; it has no independently measured benchmark data.
Sources were checked on October 2, 2026. Product configurations and documentation can change; follow the linked source before making a purchase or design decision.
